Fourth January takes us to Del Frio. Dr Nauman is leaving us as he finishes his fellowship. After some initial plans of a one dish party, and a few weeks elapsing in the middle we finally plan to go out on a sunny wintery Saturday afternoon. I am given the task of buying the cake from 'pie in the sky'. Its 'malt chocolate cake'. And to kill two birds with one cake, we celebrate 'bye bye' of Dr Nauman and 'birthday' of Dr Adnan together.

As usual I arrive early and as I ask the waiter if Del Frio has any other branch and if I am in the wrong one, Dr Nauman arrives with his wife and Dr Adnan. As we settle down we order some drinks. Below is what I had. Minty lemonade.

Eventually the rest arrive. And we start with the starters. Peri bites (my sister calls them pakoray). Nice, with a little kick, filled with cheese. All for a wonderful start.

And we have a hearty lunch and the delightful cake. And then comes the moment of honour. Dr Nehal gives away Dr Nauman a gift and a card.
