Meethi Pardesi Eid

Eid Mubarak guys! Hope you had a fantastic one. Will take you through what I did. Chand Raat I tried to have things exactly the way back home. This involved cleaning home squeaky clean. I had bought henna cone a while back from Ramadan market. So it was application time.... My attempt at mehndi Each year my Bhabhi applies mehndi on me. I am not much of a mehndi artist but I gave it a shot nonetheless. My Bhabhi sent me pictures of my niece's hands with mehndi. Please say awwww and also MashaAllah. Awwwwww I made saiwaiyaan and chicken karahi (recipe was from food fusion). I mainly made it for the mini-Eid party with colleagues that us three muslim girls at work had planned for Thursday (second day of EID). Ramadan Nights at Lakemba

Its the weekend and me and my friends plan to visit Lakemba, a Muslim suburb in Sydney. Every weekend in Ramadan, the street is closed for vehicles and streets are filled with food stalls. There were few people when we arrived, but as the night passed the streets turned busy with people tasting food, smiling away.   The thing that you are supposed to do here is come with an empty stomach. We however did not do that. My friend from Indonesia and I had a grand iftar at home before leaving. On the whole I hardly ate there. I share pictures of mostly sweet food that I did not try . I did taste the sweet lady fingers  and the fried oreos (both pictured below). Both were yum.
