Lahore post

Image
It was around eight thirty when I arrived in Lahore. Chilly but not so chilly. A rather perfect weather I must say. I sleep. I wake up and there is a conference to attend. This city is filled with beautiful people. And they look healthier. Imran Khan inaugrates the session. Below are a few pics of today.

Mumbles

End of a long day. A day filled with a research workshop. Somehow it has left me drained. I blame my vitamin D levels. Have never got my level checked but am sure it 'd be low. Winters have taken forever to arrive. Their laziness in arrival would just have spring around the corner. And I am still waiting for the oranges to come. You can argue that they are being sold. But not in epidemics I must say. So I wait. Winters, oranges. And then peanuts and carrot halwa. Dear readers, I was just wondering that no one leaves a comment on my blog. Is it difficult ... Good night. To dream a beautiful dream! Of flowers, With color. Of hours, With joy.

Testing, testing.

My cellphone's battery swells and stops functioning midway. I now have a tablet as replacement. Beautiful screen it has. This hence is a testing post. I leave you with a pic below. The story goes that I am supposed to chase a biopsy the next day and ask the phase three students in clinic with me to remind me. The next morning I am welcomed by this note at my work area.

Before my life changes

After the tumor board, I head towards the library to check whether any of the two volumes of 'I am Malala', have been returned. The answer is 'no'. My eyes drift to Paulo Coelho's book, 'Alchemist'. And I borrow it. It says in the review that this book changes the lives of the readers. And so I thought, before I change, for better or for worse, I shall have a few words with my ardent readers. So hello readers! Overall a good day. I started my day with a cold and an aching head. Both are gone as I type. I had an exceptional presentation. Made two medical summaries. Ended my working day with spending my hard earned money on shopping. Watch out girls for my new dresses. On returning home, mom had made qeema spaghetti. Absolutely yum!   My beauty tip For that absolute glowy skin, apply a generous amount of olive oil on your face. Massage. Take a small towel (aka washcloth), dip in warm water (ensure its not very hot, and you don't bur

Waar and Atrium

Image
My sister is getting married. By book she is in mayoun. But the other sister plans otherwise. We plan to enjoy each day of her bachelor life. So yesterday I went to atrium and bought tickets for 'waar'. The brand new Pakistani movie. When my father came to know that we plan for this movie, he said that be careful, there could be a terrorist attack. My mom carefully calculated that the movie is showing since Eid, hence no chance of an attack. ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ The show was to start at 1830 hours. Prior to entering the cinema B met Saima Kamal, Ainan and Maryam. Got some popcorns and coke. Next time no coke from here. The popcorn was good. Salty and caramel. You should mix the two as too much of the caramel leads to a nauseaus feeling. The tea was to my liking. If shared a cup is enough for three. The movie itself was pretty good. Very slick.

Prior to the conference

Image
Its 8 am as I write. I am here to attend a conference. The starting time was 8 am. However they decided to change the time by an hour without me knowing. So, here I am, scribbling and not really knowing what to do for the next hour. There is some breakfast being set prior to the conference. I gave it a scan and saw whats in store. Little little club sandwiches and the swollen muffins. Vanilla and chocolate. 'I shall taste them today', I thought to myself. 'I d never spend money buying them from the cafe otherwise'. People have started to trickle in by now . From where I sit, on the stairs, I can see a pair. The girl is an explosion of colors. The boys is wearing orange shirt and black pants. They continue to devour nashta as I write. Good morning it is!
