Its raining. And raining. Pouring and pouring. Its been a real long day. Doing almost nothing makes the day stretch, I guess.  The weather has somehow left me gloomy. The masses may not agree, as they love this monsoon.

 I took a day off work and it felt like the best decision ever! The day was just beautiful, nice and sunny. I had a girl meet up with my friend. She had her 18 month son with her. He has the most perfect dimples when he smiles. We had to sit in a children's area so he could let us talk. Here is what I made out of his veggies..... We had chai Latte. It's chai made with cinnamon and is frothy like coffee.  New beginnings this week I started a group called Quran sisters. In this small group we are learning to understand Arabic in order to understand namaz and quran better. Its going to be baby steps, but I hope to be persistent. On the same note, after months of planning, today I started the weight training. I just exercised with 1 kg weight in each hand. Slow and steady is how I plan to continue.  With food, united we stand My Indian work colleague shared dhokla with me. It was delicious! Blogging about things that matter. Making a difference. Yes, no, maybe. If drops of water continue to drop on a rock, one day, yes one day, the rock perforates. Well the last thing that I want is people to perforate. They would be referred to surgery , oh yeah. But provided that the rest of their functions are alright. The heart, the lung, the kidneys. And yes, obviously no UTI (urinary tract infection). Last night, while oncall watched Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam). His songs are amazing. He had a similar beard. He used to wake up early offer prayers and then make breakfast with my nani. Yes , so its finally happening! Its that time of the year when people start to get sarcastic.”I’m gonna sleep tonight and wake up after one whole year!”. Anyways, for the docs working at AKUH, its been a tough year.Specially for us, year twos.An year of fourteen months.Before even autumn could come , our residents started to shed.It started with Mohsin, then it was Asad, then Naeem,  followed by Mohkum and eventually Saima Mangi.We had ‘fauji’ training the year round. Fourteen months were easily divided into five months of oncology, five months of  gastroentrology, two months of Neurologly, one month of pulmo and another month of ICU. We had ‘fauji’ training the year round And now , lets welcome third year! Third year……………. New team……….what team, myself and an intern…………..an intern who doesn’t know the system.Has no pager, and by the time he has one , wont know how to operate it…..
