Memories of travel

Image
Sometime back I traveled to Belgium. Sharing some beautiful moments today.  The sun from the airplane window and the dark inside. With the flight in transit to Doha, this was Hammad International Airport. It had a long long walk way from one terminal to the next.     Jadeed perfume...    Some random peoples .....    The airport had this nice and peaceful mosque inside. Love the black and white motives. In the lounge were these... fruit salad, muffin (which I saved for later) and the drink doesnt need any detail. The tea was like any other tea. Liked the cup though. (did not keep it for later) This one if from the Belgian hotel breakfast. Say cheese!

Direct from marriot

I finally wake up at nine thirty. Its late. By my own standards. I lazily decide whether I should go to this oncology conference or not. I shall and I should. After a nashta of egg roti, made by mom, and tea, made half heartedly by me, and tasting just plain half hearted. Half an hour later stomach filled with nashta and face filled with make up, I head towards marriot. Its interesting. They later distribute stethescopes. Litmans! Thats lavish. Medical students get it for reasons like having a position in med school, and one gets it for reasoning that he needs it. Then there is a break but without food. Take that Zarka! Just as I leave the place, I take a picture of these flowers. Beautiful. Happy weekend everybody!

Red and pink

Just the right time to blog. Fresh fresh. After painting my face with hints of reds and pinks I now sit in front of the computer to scribble. Type they call it. Not my type or my type.  History repeats its self. We plan to go for shopping (grocery, with me dreaming of some new shoes ) and followed by dinner. We take ages to get ready. Its not that we take a long time to get ready, its just that we start late. Shoes seem like a dream now. We ve time enough for dinner only.

Just landed: Back in Karachi.

"Asalam-u-laikum", I greet the lady behind the counter (at Karachi Airport). She smiles back and responds. Then comes the big task. Reclaim of luggage. My amazingly heavy bags. Filled with half the stuff I never really used. Dragging them on the railways in UK is a story of its own. This little girl, two bags and a lot of friction. And yes to add insult to injury was my huge coat. I just had to wear it. I'd spent quite a fortune on it and if worn in our Pakistani winters would give me a heatstroke. The bags had wheels and were supposed to stand in normal circumstances. But the weight that the bags contained was not normal and the bags would bow down once left alone.

Ladies and gentleman.Let’s take a visit to my cousin’s wedding. The chiefs could not arrange for a replacement. I tried my level best to arrange a cover. Dr Imran accepted to give cover, but then the whole plan was not really making sense and I thought that I’m not going and will stay in the hospital, while the rest of the family leaves for the wedding. Dr Jalal then told me to go, if there is some sort of arrangement being done.”Work here will never finish, don’t miss this chance!”, he added. I left. Postcall. Drained out. I left hospital at 1715 hours. My family looked excited. As we approached toll plaza, the sun was about to set. Toll Plaza (leads to Hyderabad). From there on its about a two hour drive.     Wonderful truck art.The portrait is of ‘Jalal Chandio’ (famous Sindhi singer).           The evening gives way to night, and the sky hues beautifully!               Take another look a...
